Snoring – Sleep Apnea Consultation
At your first visit to our office, Dr. Doucette and his highly trained team will assess your risk for Obstructive Sleep Apnea based on your medical history, signs, symptoms, and your airway “collapsibility.”
Our practice uses the Eccovision Acoustic Pharyngometer/Rhinometer system from Sleep Group Solutions to test our patients’ nasal and oropharyngeal airways. The device sends sound waves into the airway and the reflected sound waves are measured by the machine to calculate airway size and more importantly, where the airway is collapsing/obstructing the most. The Rhinometer measures the nasal airway and the Pharyngometer measures the oropharyngeal airway. Both systems are FDA cleared and a highly effective way for us to identify the site and severity of an airway obstruction as it relates to snoring and sleep related breathing problems.
